The works of Aldo Chaparro (Peru, 1965) participate in an aware and detailed game of art. The artist selects, quotes, and mixes the pillars of contemporary art in a scrupulous practice that tends to decontextualize the works from their original environment. Chaparro creates a new space among original materials, such as stainless steel bent by the artist himself with the strength of his body, and the search for colors with an accentuated modernity. His works reside in many prestigious collections of Latin American Art, including the Jumex Foundation and the Coppel Collection (Mexico), the CIFO – Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (Miami  – U.S.), the Helga de Alvear Foundation (Cáceres – Spain), Simon de Pury (London – U.K.) and Douglas Baxter’s Collection (New York – U.S.).
